However there is another high street contender that sells not just basic make up, but high end named brands at budget friendly prices.
The shop I am making reference to is TK Maxx. Although I knew they sold make up and beauty, I honestly feel that they have recently stepped up their make up brand game. I say this following my weekend purchases from my local branch.
It’s funny, as the reason I even went to TK Maxx was to get out of the rain. Upon entering the shop and going to the beauty section, I looked at my watch and an hour had passed.
Which Budget Friendly Brands?
Whilst going through their make up, I saw brands such as Tarte, Milk, ABH, Elizabeth Arden and numerous others.
The thing that can often put people off from TK Maxx is that it can often be a chore to find exactly what you are looking for, or there is no order to the way things are laid out.
My honest advice is to not let that put you off, as you are missing out on significant savings.
I picked up a total of 5 Beauty products, from the following brands:
Nip + fab
I have never used any Nip + Fab products, however I have only heard positive things. I picked up the Viper Venom Extreme Night Fix. This particular night cream contains hyaluronic acid and I have wanted to try a product that contains this for a while.
As you can see the retail price for this is £19.95, however the price I paid at TK Maxx was £4.99.
Have been a fan of NYX butter glosses for a while. When I saw that 3 glosses were being sold for £7.99, I grabbed it so fast. I mean I who wouldn’t?
Two of the glosses are colours that I already use, and so that was a bonus in itself. The retail value of the glosses are £17.30.
Given that I love their foundation, it was only a matter of time before I tried more of this products.
Luckily I found their Vinyl Lip Colour, and it was in a colour that suited my skin tone (hooray).
This weekend was my first time seeing Estee Lauder at TK Maxx.
I don’t know if I just haven’t looked properly previously, or if this is a recent thing. Whatever it is I am so here for this (especially as I got it for £12.99 instead of £25…..result!)
I purchased their size queen mascara. To be quite honest, the sole reason I got this was price alone.
I have never used Too Faced, but having a general idea of their retail prices, I couldn’t say no…it was £5.99 people!
My initial impressions of this mascara are good. The lash brush is huge, although am not sure the size translates in pictures. Am looking forward to finding out if this mascara will be a repeat purchase.
The vintage cosmetic company
Full disclosure here….I hadn’t heard of this brand before. When I saw their false lashes, they just looked so pretty that I wanted to give them a try.
They were only £2.99 and so, even if it turns out that I don’t like them, it’s not too much of a big deal.
So as you can see, with the right amount of patience and perseverance, there are amazing bargains to be found.
The great thing about TK Maxx is that their product restock happens quickly and so there are more brands that will inevitably be on sale.
The savings that can he made are insane. Along with my beauty purchases, I also got a book about Coco Chanel which cost £7.99.
This together with everything else came up to £42 and some change.
I know with total certainly, that TK Maxx will now be one of my first beauty stops.
Why not pay a visit and let me know what you get 🙂.
